This flavourful blend is perfect for dark roast enthusiasts, featuring beans from Kenya, Peru, and Brazil.
Kenyan beans come from the Kiangundo washing station, which sources cherries from over 690 producers farming in Karatina, Nyeri County. Smallholders handpick ripe cherries and deliver them to the washing station the same day. Once sorted, the cherries are pulped and density sorted. The pulped cherries undergo dry fermentation for 16 to 24 hours, with skilled staff ensuring fermentation is halted at the perfect moment. Post-fermentation, the cherries are washed, graded, soaked for 24 hours, and then dried on raised beds for 1 to 3 weeks.
Peruvian beans come from JUMARP (Asociación de Productores Cafetaleros Juan Marco El Palto), an organisation revolutionising coffee production in rural Peru. We proudly support their Mujeres program, which promotes gender equity in the community by empowering women in decision-making, leadership, entrepreneurial management, and teamwork.
Lastly, our superb Brazilian beans come from the Nunes family, one of the first to achieve Sucafina’s IMPACT verification. The IMPACT program ensures coffee production adheres to specific social and environmental standards. Gabriel Nunes, who now leads the family business, says, “Today, it is necessary to balance the social, environmental, and financial pillars of a farm for the business to thrive. Planting today is about ensuring quality, proper soil management to reduce input use, environmental awareness, and understanding market demands.” We couldn't agree more.
Pablo is fervent and incredible.
